1st Grade Teacher 2025-2026

 

Hello everyone! I am Ms. Whittenburg, and I am from Greeneville, TN. This is my first year teaching, and I’m thrilled to be in first grade at the best school! I recently graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Elementary Education and am currently earning my master’s degree through UT’s Job-Embedded program. I look forward to getting to know your family and partnering with you to support your child’s learning journey this year! Go Warriors!

Supply List!

There is a $20 Supply Fee to help us teachers keep extra supplies for the students in the classroom! Thank you!

Supplies to bring!

-Over-the-ear headphones (no earbuds)

-1 pack of glue sticks 

-Water Bottle with covered straw

-Pre-sharpened Ticonderoga Pencils

-Box of Kleenex

-1 box of crayons

-1 pack of markers  

-1 pack of black fine-tip dry-erase markers

-Wide ruled composition notebook 

-Two changes of clothes (one cooler and one warmer outfit) in a gallon-size Ziplock baggie to keep in your child's locker in case of spills/ accidents

Important Information!

Please send your student to school in tennis shoes on Thursdays and Fridays for gym!

Review Before School Starts!

Summer Reading!

Requirements:

-Read 15 picture books to an adult 

-Students need to write down the title of the book (on the reading log in THEIR handwriting) 

-Parents need to initial each book 

-Choose 3 of the picture books you read and create one illustration per book. (A total of 3 different illustrations) 

-Under each picture, STUDENTS must write a sentence describing their illustration (in their own writing, it will NOT be accepted if it is not in their own writing.) Students must write a complete sentence beginning with a capital letter and ending period

-Return the list of books and illustrations to me on registration day

Reward:

-There will be a special award for those who participate. The activity will be chosen by the administration.

-YOUR CHILD WILL RECEIVE A FREE 100 IN READING IF HE/SHE COMPLETES THE SUMMER READING EXPECTATIONS! 

*YOU MUST READ 15 BOOKS AND ILLUSTRATE 3 BOOKS IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE REWARD FIELD TRIP
