Teaching Excellence Award

Whitney Butler received the Teaching Excellence Award for her immersive teaching of history with interactive games and multimedia elements that encourage a well rounded learning experience, as well as for the promotion of the study of local history to her students. 

She also received the Award of Distinction for the NGS Historical Society’s Veterans Day Documentary Inside the Life of a Veteran, which recounted the story of Cocke County Vietnam Veteran Paul Shaver.
